Message from the Dean

Welcome to the College of Political Science at the University of Duhok. I am pleased and honored to lead an academic institution that believes political science is not merely the study of political systems and international relations, but a mission to understand reality, make rational decisions, and promote the values of justice, good governance, and sustainable peace. The college is committed to preparing students who possess a deep understanding of local, regional, and international politics, along with developing their skills in critical thinking, political analysis, and scientific research. This empowers them to actively contribute to serving the community and both public and private institutions. The college offers undergraduate and graduate programs in multiple disciplines within political science, with an increasing focus on contemporary issues such as democracy, human rights, international relations, public policy, and regional security. We also strive to expand the horizons of academic cooperation with regional and international universities and research institutions, enhancing the quality of our programs and providing our students with outstanding educational opportunities. Our pursuit of excellence is an ongoing process, and we are committed to developing our educational and research programs to keep pace with modern academic standards and community needs. We believe that quality education is the foundation for building future leaders and decision-makers capable of facing complex political challenges. We welcome students, alumni, researchers, and partners from government institutions, civil society organizations, and the media to engage with us through practical training, joint research, seminars, and public lectures.
